June 4, 2009
Dear Parents,
The time is coming when we end one thing and begin another. We end our school year with thanks to God for all the year has brought us. We begin our summer vacation with confidence that God is with us and turn to God each day in prayer. We thank you, Lord, for the gift of your kingdom and the promise of summer. Be with us each day. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!
Most of us look forward to the summer the way we look forward to heaven! We expect to spend some time with our friends doing wonderful things. May God renew our excitement for heaven by giving us a taste of it each summer. As you look forward to summer vacations take some time to reflect on this past year. Are there parts of the past year that you would like to forget? What have you learned from the difficulties you faced? What memories do you want to keep this year?
Thank you for your Market Day order this month! We’re looking forward to seeing you at our sale pick-up on Saturday between 9 and 10. You can find us in the lunchroom. Thank you for your continued support. Market Day sales continue through the summer. Mark your calendar for July 18, August 15 and September 12. You can order online or call Kim at 462-1708 with your order. Thank you for supporting St. Mary School!
Congratulations to Elizabeth Trumbull & Jeremiah Durian for their Random Acts of Kindness. They were the lucky winners of the 2nd drawing to have lunch with Mrs. Cooley. We are looking for students who show random acts of kindness. Students receive a treat and are put in a drawing for lunch with me. There were 204 “Act of Kindness” coupons brought to my office over the last four weeks. Keep up the great job; an act of kindness given is an act of kindness received.
Thank You 5th graders & Mrs. Hitchcock. Once again 5th Grade Graduates were asked to sing their graduation song at the High School Graduation Mass on Sunday, May 31st. A special thanks to the 5th graders and their parents for coming and singing, it was appreciated. God Bless You!
Enrollment Prayers: Please keep praying that more families will choose St. Mary School. You know the benefits of a Catholic Education – let others know, spread the word that St. Mary School is a safe loving environment where “Faith & Knowledge Meet”.
Please do your best to get your tuition, hot lunch IOU’s, and latch-key payments up to date before the end of the school year. Just like you, we have bills that need to be paid on time and have a difficult time doing so if we do not receive your payments. Thank You!
Parent Survey…please take a few moments to help us ensure the BEST for our students both academically and spiritually. Your input is valuable to us, simply go to stmarrypp.org, click on ‘links’, then PARENT SURVEY (K-5 parents yours came as a bulletin once you log in). Hard copies are available in theoffice and may be returned in a sealed envelope for LCAB School Board President, Debbie McCaw. Remember, my door is always open, please call or email if you have any questions or concerns. You are welcome to attend PTA and Board meetings, which are held monthly.
This will be the last newsletter for the 2008-2009 school year. The TENTATIVE first day of school is on Tuesday, September 1st, with our annual “Open House” on Monday August 31st from 4-6 p.m.. Look for a “Welcome Back & Open House” postcard announcing final dates mid August. A Supply List was attached last week to help you with your summer shopping and can be found on our website or email for a copy.
Summer Hours: The school office will be open on Wednesdays from 9-12 noon or by appointment and closed during July. However, during June & August you will find me in the office most days with flexible hours; you may also reach me at home @ 628-2942. Payment books will be sent in time for payments to begin in July.
Come to St. Mary’s Vacation Bible School! This year’s theme is Crocodile Rock: Where fearless kids shine God’s light! Registration forms available at the Parish or School Office. VBS will take place, July 27th – 31st, 9 a.m. –12 p.m.
Once again, thank each of you for letting us be a part of your lives and for entrusting your child's education with us. We feel blest! Have a pleasant summer and remember to keep God in your lives!
Yours in Christ!
Mrs. Connie Cooley, Principal
