Vacation Bible School Recap!
We had a great week experiencing “Christmas in the Son.” Over 175 students attended! A special thank you to our core team of 22 adults and 26 students and our decorating team that spent weeks preparing and a full week setting up. It would have been impossible to host this many children without you. We are blessed to have so much talent and a large facility to accommodate all of us. Among their lessons on hope, peace, love and joy the children reached beyond themselves in prayer and in stewardship. With St. Nicholas as their model, they took care of orphans by making bright and cozy fleece blankets and pillows that will be donated to an organization in Holland that cares for orphans. In the same Christmas spirit, they decorated paper sacks and made snack packs that will be donated to the ”Kids Food Basket” in Grand Rapids. This organization feeds 1,500 needy children DAILY by providing them with snack dinners. Also, the older children in the Junior Discipleship program donated canned goods for the food pantry. Most importantly, the children brought in pop cans and change, and it looks like we raised the $650 we need to sponsor a Gleaners Truck (we are still counting all of the change!)that will feed the needy in our area with fresh fruit and vegetables.
