St. Matthew Catholic Church at 8015 Ballantyne Commons PKWY, Charlotte, NC 28277 US - St. Matthew Gives $100,00 to Assist the Homeless

On Wednesday, November 19, Msgr. McSweeney welcomed representatives from 20 community organizations in Mecklenburg and Union Counties that assist the homeless. Msgr. also challenged all faith based communities in the area to work together to help these people who are the brothers and sisters of us all.  The money that was donated was raised by St. Matthew parishioners in several ways:  the Just Cause Fast of the teens in April, the parish's rebate from the DSA collection, the Pennies from Heaven Drive this summer, and funds left over after the expenses of the Haiti Food Drive.  The organizations receiving the gifts were chosen because they assist the homeless with housing, job training, medical care and/or domestic violence issues.  Please check the link below to view a short video about the presentation.
