St. Peregrine has found a home at St. Matthew. Over the past few years awareness and devotion to this Patron Saint of cancer and other serious diseases has grown here at our parish. On Thursday, December 10,  2009, our solemn prayer service will include the blessing with the relic of St. Peregrine for those suffering from cancer or other serious diseases. The Healing Prayer Service will be offered on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary. (EXCEPT FOR NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2009 WHEN IT WILL BE HELD ON THE SECOND THURSDAY)

 

St. Peregrine has been called the “wonder worker” for his intercession on behalf of those living with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. He is the patron of all who are afflicted by cancer, leg ailments, or any incurable disease. He is also the patron saint of youth at risk. His feast day is May 4.
