St. Mel's Roman Catholic Church at 4140 Corona Ave, Norco, CA 92860 US - Qualities Of Stewardship
| Qualities Of Stewardship |
We are stewards of the Church in its ongoing mission to continue the ministry of Jesus among us. As Stewards of the Church, we foster and cherish the gifts of all people while using our own gifts to serve the community of faith. Stewardship within the Church calls us to evangelization by proclaiming the good news, as well as asking us for our support of the church’s institutions and programs. In turn, we must call the church at all levels to live out the stewardship it teaches by accountability for its finances and resources. Good stewardship also requires parishes and dioceses to use the gifts of personal service and witness of people in their involvement with the church through consultative structures. The Eucharist becomes the sign and symbol of stewardship for the individual Christian and for the church. In the Eucharist, we celebrate the renewal of the covenant Jesus made with us, but we, in turn, renew our covenant with him as well as with one another. The Eucharist is the sign and expression of solidarity of God with the human race, and the human race with God and one another. We bring our lives, our gifts, our resources to the altar, and they too must be transformed as the bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus.
