St. Mel Office Of Faith Formation at 154-24 26 Avenue, Flushing, NY 11354 US - Sacramental Preparation of Children

Through sacramental preparation, the children and families of both St. Mel School and School of Religion will have an understanding and knowledge of the special graces received at Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. Programs are conducted by the Religious Education Office for parents to help them acquire the necessary background to prepare their children for these sacraments. Family involvement in this preparation is crucial to the formation of your child. In addition to the regular grade-level religion curriculum, this office will provide an additional textbook and materials for your child's sacramental preparation. Families of children in sacramental grades will be notified in due time regarding their particular process. A basic and integral part of continuous faith formation and sacramental preparation for everyone includes regular mass attendance and prayer.
