Two grades are combined together for 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, and 7th/8th. Historically, this has worked very well for St. Patrick School. Younger students learn from the older students, while the older students are still able to be academically challenged on their grade level. Subjects such as science and social studies are taught together, while reading, language arts, and math are taught separately. For the junior high, Ursula Spence teaches language arts, reading, and math to all 5th through 8th grade students, and Sister Jane Frances teaches religion, social studies, and science. While Ms. Spence teaches the 5th/6th graders, Sister teaches the 7th/8th graders. The classes then switch daily, so that all subjects are taught. All students at St. Patrick School receive individual attention. St. Patrick's School is known for its high academics, which prepares students for entrance into any high school, whether private or public.
