A Little about St. Paul Church...St. Paul Church, located near downtown Owosso, is a friendly, welcoming congregation of 975 families. Our parish, founded in 1871, is rooted in tradition, but warmly embraces new ideas and new people. We offer a variety of opportunities for people of all ages to grow in their faith and their relationship with Jesus Christ.
St. Paul offers a number of programs for youth. As the only Catholic school in Shiawassee County, St. Paul School provides its students with a rigorous academic education, personalized attention, extracurricular activities, a family-friendly environment and sound Catholic formation. Religious Education for Grades 1-6 meets on Wednesday evenings, and Grades 7-8 meet on Sunday night. Children's Liturgy of the Word for ages 5-9 meets during the 10AM liturgy. Our High School Youth Ministry Program gathers on Sunday evenings to learn about the Catholic faith and to discuss teen issues. The Youth Group also participates in service projects, social events, and retreats. St. Paul is one of the few parishes to offer a Special Religious Education Program for children and adults with special needs.
St. Paul hosts CAFE, an educational series for adults, providing them the opportunity to grow in their understanding and knowledge of the Catholic faith. Bible Studies are regularly offered. We have a Bereavement Group and Divorce Support Group. The "Prime Timers," a group for people 55 and older, meets regularly for trips, social events, and other fun activities. Our parish organizations include the Altar Society, St. Joseph's Workers, Daughters of Isabella, FAMILIA, and St. Vincent de Paul. Our parish is actively engaged in ministry to the poor, sick, homebound, and lonely in our community.
