| From Father Pete |
A Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. We are blessed in so many ways. We need to remember to thank God for the generosity granted to us. We have two Thanksgiving services. This Sunday there is an ecumenical prayer service at St. Peter's at 2:00 PM. On Thanksgiving Day, there is a mass at St. Mary's at 9:00 AM.
We welcome into the church Anne Therese VonArx, daughter of Tim and Theresa, baptized last Sunday at St. Peter's. May she know God's blessings through all of us.

“Congress continues to debate health care reform legislation. While the U.S. House passed a health care bill that prevents the federal government from funding elective abortions, the U.S. bishops remain deeply concerned about Senate action, especially as it will affect abortion funding, conscience rights, affordability for the poor and vulnerable, and accessibility for immigrants.
In your bulletins today, you’ll find a newly updated flier insert from the U.S. Bishops Conference asking you to please contact your Senators immediately and urge them to address these moral issues. The bulletin insert includes a web address that allows you to send an email message to Congress with a click of a button. The bishops have asked for our swift action and our prayers. Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will be about saving lives, not destroying them.”
Are you or someone you know interested in joining the Catholic Church? Or are you interested in being baptized? Have you been baptized Catholic but never received the Sacrament of Confirmation? Questions about the Catholic Church, Church teachings and the Catholic faith are discussed during the Inquiry phase of the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
All are welcome to attend these informative sessions. If you are considering joining the Catholic Church or completing your initiation process in the Catholic Church and would like more information about the RCIA, please call or e mail Fr. Pete or David. The second RCIA meeting will be on Wednesday, December 2 at 6:30 PM at Montini Hall.

Job loss or a change in job status is an all too common experience in this difficult economy. People and families who experience job loss can be profoundly affected emotionally. Sadness, resentment and discouragement are common responses. At Catholic Charities we can help you move through your emotional response and on to more productive goals. For more information contact Catholic Charities at 507-454-2270
Upcoming meeting:
-
Thursday, May 7 Youth Leadership Team meeting at 7 PM at St. Mary's.
FYI: In 2008, our parishes had a total of 14 weddings, 15 funerals and 28 baptisms. In 2007, we had a total of 9 weddings, 13 funerals and 25 baptisms. In 2006, we had a total of 7 weddings, 7 funerals and 21 baptisms. It is a healthy sign that we are having more baptisms than funerals.
Parish Pictorial Directories are in and available for those who had their pictures taken or who submitted a photo. For those who did not have their picture taken by Olin Mills or submit a photo, a limited supply of directories will be available for purchase for $10. Please contact Lyn Bissen, Kelly Beckman or Suzanne Wobig.
Time and Talent Survey.
If you did not complete a "Time and Talent Survey", please contact parish administrator, David U'Ren, and ask him for one. It is through these surveys that parishioners are assigned to various ministry roles such as lector, usher, Eucharistic minister, as well as less visible roles such as yard work and shoveling snow. All parishioners have talents to share; please complete a survey and share your talents.
