Recent research findings on the long-term health and environmental risks of the pill, patch or shot have made many couples rethink their family planning decisions. NFP is completely safe, scientifically proven, and environmentally friendly. It is also in harmony with the teaching of the Catholic Church.
A NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING 3-CLASS SERIES will be offered in Winona at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on June 17, July 1 and 15 (all Wednesdays), 6-8 p.m. To register or to obtain more information, call Meredith and Bill Daniel at (507) 452-2308, or email them at mariewe@smumn.edu.

The Winona Diocesan Council of Catholic Women has announced a new communication method for anyone in the Winona Diocese, but especially women age18 and older. The email address, wdccw@dow.org will now be available to answer your CCW questions on topics from legislation, church, community, international, and family concerns as well as organizational concerns of parish women’s groups from a Catholic standpoint. Besides having this address for questions, the Council plans to send out an email-only newsletter from this address entitled “Connecting Catholic Women”. Registration for the email newsletter is confidential and email addresses will not be shared with any other organization.

Steven Lehn is writing about the history of the Catholic Church in Hokah.
On the Hokah web site, there is an ongoing article about Hokah’s Catholic Heritage. The web address is: http://hokah.communityblogs.us/
Please check back as this article is being written in parts and will continue to be posted over the next couple of months. Your family may find it interesting to learn about amazing gifts that were given to build the church and you are sure to find some familiar names. This posting is based on the book; They called Hokah their Home by Carol Walcker.
We are in need of a few volunteers to help in delivering meals to a few seniors in Hokah. If you have extra time around 11AM, we would love to hear from you. This is also a great opportunity for parents who want to work with their children on learning the importance of giving of ones time, to help someone else. The meals get picked up at the coffee shop between 11:00 and 11:15. It takes roughly 20 minutes to deliver. Please call Mike or Carol Moore at 894-4231 or 894-4511.
This program is run through Semcac (Meals on Wheels)
