The 2009-2010 school term will soon begin. The faculty and staff of Altoona Central Catholic School are looking forward to working with our school family for another great educational year. Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students are scheduled from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM at the Wopsononock Street site. Fifth through Eighth Grade students are scheduled from 7:50 AM until 2:40 PM at the Fourth Avenue site. The Preschool students will be attending half-day sessions at the Wopsononock site. Registrations are still being accepted for our Preschool Program. Please call (814) 381-7011 if you have any questions regarding Altoona Central Catholic School. Saint Therese Parish invites and encourages parents to participate in the Altoona Central Catholic School as a primnary and important way to carry out their responsibility to share their Catholic faith with their children. EXCITING news for Altoona Central Catholic School is meeting the goals of the Middel States Accredidation evaluation of aiming for fewer sites. The two sites are referred to as the Altoona Central Catholic Elementary School (Wopsononock Avenue site) and the Altoona Central Catholic Middle School (Fourth Avenue site).
To support Catholic Education in general and Altoona Central Catholic School in particular, St. Therese of the Child Jesus parish-family promotes the "Scrip" certificate program.  Every weekend in the Narthex of St. Therese church, volunteers sell "Scrip" certificates good at area grocery stores and convenience stores.  This program affords a number of $250 scholarships to Altoona Central Catholic and Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High Schools.  Other funds go directly to the Altoona Central Catholic School and to St. Therese parish for student subsidy.
