Welcome to St. Walter's 5th Grade Class!
The 5th graders explored different points of view when learning about conflicts between the Native Americans and the settlers. The issue was the use and possession of land. The girls were the Native Americans and the boys were the settlers. Each side had to argue their point of view to each other. I had one boy and one girl at a time match up to debate the issue of land. It was a very successful and interesting debate and the class appreciated hearing the different points of view.
