The Year of Faith
October 11, 2012 - November 24, 2013
The theme of the Year of Faith is
The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith.
In proclaiming this, the Holy Father said that the entire Church and her pastors must set out to lead people out of the desert, towards the place of Life, towards a friendship with the Son of God, the One Who gives us Life, and Life in abundance. Therefore, we must take time to reflect and rediscover our faith. God will outpour, in a very specical and unique way, His graces of FAITH, which will flow through the CHURCH doors when the Holy Father opens them on Thursday, October 11, 2012 - the feast of the Divine Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Holy Father purposely chose the opening of the Year of Faith to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, to encourage the people to study the Catechism, and learn the beauty of our Faith. Suggestion: you will be surprised how unintimidating it is to commit to read five paragraphs of the Catechism a day, and how much you will learn in one year.
