Masses in Spanish are Sunday at 12:30 pm at Christ the King in Sioux Center, or every 2nd and 4th Sunday night at St. Mary's parish in Rock Valley, IA. The Trinity Cluster is also a member of the Diocese of Sioux City, IA.
Trinity Cluster Mission Statement
We, the members of Trinity Cluster, consisting of Sacred Heart Parish in Alvord, St. Mary Parish in Rock Valley, Christ the King, Catholic Community in Sioux Center affirm our union with all the members of the Roman Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ and governed by his Vicar, the Bishop of Rome. Through the grace of the Holy Spirit, we recognize ourselves as sharers in the role of Christ, the Priest, the Prophet and the King, and we declare ourselves willing to accept the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ to carry on his work of salvation. We pledge our cooperation with the Bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City, the priests assigned to us and other pastoral ministers by sharing responsibility in spiritual, educational, social and administrative matters. We hereby join together and form a Cluster Council in response to the recommendations of the Vatican Council, which urged the formation of councils to assist the spostolic work of the Church. Trinity Cluster History
The Trinity Cluster of Catholic Churches of Northwest Iowa came to fruition in 1995. The following three parishes are all the active members of the cluster family: Christ the King in Sioux Center, Sacred Heart in Alvord and St. Mary in Rock Valley. The cluster family is served by one Priest, Fr. Doug Klein, as well as one Pastoral Minister, Nancy Michels and Cluster Secretary, Lin Gacke. Each parish has its own Parish Council, committees, Directors of Religious Education, and Catechists. The Cluster parishes share resoures as much as possible. Cluster masses are celebrated several times a year, usually on Holy Days of Obligation and Holidays.
Orginally established to serve the immigrant families from Europe, the Catholic community of this area fins itself, one hundred years later, welcoming immigrants of another culture - Latin America.
